Last month, a new 2025 Kia Sorento owner from Centerville asked during their first service appointment: “What maintenance does my Sorento actually need versus what’s just optional upsells?” They’d heard conflicting information from friends, read confusing advice online, and wanted clear guidance on protecting their investment without overspending on unnecessary services. Last fall, a 2020 Kia Telluride came into our Heller Drive service center for routine maintenance when the owner casually mentioned “the brakes feel a little soft lately.” Inspection revealed brake pads worn to less than 2mm thickness—dangerously thin—and contaminated brake fluid with 4% moisture content that had lowered the boiling point to unsafe levels….
Last month, a 2022 Kia Sportage Hybrid came into our service bay with a sluggish acceleration complaint and a warning light that had been glowing for two weeks. The owner had skipped their scheduled hybrid battery cooling system inspection and hadn’t had the 12-volt auxiliary battery tested since purchase. After 28,000 miles of stop-and-go traffic…
Last May, a 2023 Kia Sportage experienced complete brake failure on I-675 during rush hour after the owner skipped spring inspection. The owner assumed electric vehicles needed no maintenance and had driven 28,000 miles without any service beyond tire rotations. The battery thermal management system had developed coolant contamination, and the brake calipers…
Last week, a Forte owner from Fairborn came in for tire rotation at 22,000 miles, his first since buying the vehicle new two years earlier. His front tires measured 3/32-inch tread depth, nearly worn to replacement limits, while rear tires still showed 7/32 inches. He’d been commuting daily on I-675 between Fairborn and Kettering, plus…
